Paynes National Poly Hive Open Mesh Floor

Poly Open Mesh Floor complete with sliding tray and entrance block, which can double as a mouse guard over winter.

Normally used in the Paynes National Poly Hive but is compatible with wooden hives also, allowing bee keepers to make the most their hive parts by mix and matching wooden parts with their poly hive parts to maximise the advantages of polystyrene, especially over winter.

Advantages:

• Improved wintering – water vapour escapes easily through the floor – no need for top ventilation which wastes the colony’s heat. No need for extra screens when moving bees.
• Reduction of varroa populations – mites which fall through the screen do not climb back up. Easy monitoring of mite populations – simply slide in the plastic drawer under the screen when required. Can be left on all year round.
• Comes with our entrance block which doubles as a mouse guard for the winter months.
