Introducing VespaCatch Select, the evolution of the VespaCatch Original trap, specifically designed to combat the Asian hornet (Vespa velutina) also called Yellow-legged hornet.
With its adjustable dial, you can easily adjust the size of the trap entrances to 7, 8, 9, 10, or 11 mm (0.28, 0.31, 0.35, 0.39, or 0.43 inches).
This allows for better targeting of Asian hornets based on the time of year (foundress trapping and autumn trapping) and also enables the capture of other hornet species.
With the same trap, you can capture the Oriental hornet (Vespa orientalis), a new unwelcome guest present in the Mediterranean area. Whether it’s to protect your beehives, garden, or your community members, VespaCatch will be a valuable ally in the fight against hornets!
The VespaCatch Select features several characteristics that preserve non-targeted insects.
The ability to customize entrance sizes (7 to 11 mm) (0.27 to 0.43 inches), combined with a drowning prevention grid and exit holes for other captured insects, ensures maximum selectivity.
